Introducing Our Firm

Financial Evidence Group, A CPA Firm, was founded by A. Christine (Chris) Davis,  CPA/CFF/CGMA a highly experienced forensic accountant, litigation consultant, and damages expert based in San Francisco, California. Financial Evidence Group is a registered CPA firm providing forensic accounting, litigation consulting, and expert witness services. Our clients are attorneys and their clients, businesses, nonprofits, and public agencies. 

 

Chris is a licensed CPA in California, New York, and the District of Columbia, and credentialed in financial forensics. She has served as a litigation consultant and expert witness for over 25 years. Prior to founding Financial Evidence Group, Chris held numerous leadership positions at CPA and consulting firms as a partner or managing director.

Effective May 2022, Chris was appointed by the the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the premier national association of Certified Public Accountants in the United States and which sets forth general and ethics standards for its members (more than 428,000 members in 130 countries), to serve on the AICPA'S Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) Credential Committee.** As one of only nine members in this vital Committee comprised of highly experienced forensic accountants, Financial Evidence Group considers Chris's appointment both an honor and a privilege. Chris is also the Chair of the CFF Credential Committee's Study Group Task Force.

 

Financial Evidence Group is affiliated with and supported by several experienced litigation consulting experts specializing in forensic accounting, economic damages analysis, financial and statistical analysis, data analytics, electronic discovery, and private investigations. Financial Evidence Group is based in the San Francisco Bay Area with clients throughout the U.S. and Canada.

** The AICPA established the CFF credential in 2008. The CFF credential is granted to qualified CPAs who demonstrate considerable expertise in forensic accounting through their analytical skills, knowledge of accounting, economics and finance, relevant education and work experience, and continuing professional education. CFF credential holders apply their expertise in financial forensics in a wide range of commercial litigation matters and complex financial and accounting investigations.

Damages Expert
Consulting and Testimony

We provide litigation consulting services and expert witness testimony. Retained on behalf of the plaintiff or defendant, we calculate the value of economic harm associated with various types of commercial and civil lawsuits. We testify in depositions, arbitrations and at trials and assist in mediations. We also assist in discovery planning, requests for production of documents and preparing counsel for depositions.

Forensic Accounting
and Investigations 

We apply our deep forensic accounting experience to help businesses and public agencies resolve financial and accounting concerns by conducting internal investigations and communicating our findings to the Board of an entity and those charged with governance. We skillfully reconstruct and decipher disputed business transactions based on available evidence, interpret their significance to the claims, and measure their impact on the financial condition of the entity.

(GAAP and GAAS)

Our sophisticated accounting expertise is backed by successful dispute resolution experience involving technical issues in accounting and financial reporting and questions about the quality of the audit of an entity's financial statements. We apply our practical knowledge and technical expertise in GAAP and GAAS when evaluating accountant malpractice claims. We possess significant professional credentials and complete extensive continuing education in accounting, financial forensics, and business valuation every year.
